1. Introduction of new staff
Since the last meeting, TB and MGM have been appointed to their roles, and were welcomed by the rest of the committee.
2. New website, including tiered membership
SA has been working on the specification for a new website, for which there is now a definite timescale. We stepped through this to make sure all of committee are in agreement, including with the small upfront (though refundable) investment.
There was also unanimous agreement that a degree of comment and engagement functionality will continue to exist for non-members as part of a continued effort to expand our reach in the broader community. However there remains a sustained focus on upgrading the facilities on offer to full, current NAF Members and the specific permissions of the two different account roles will be discussed in the next few weeks.
3. Treasurer Election
TB has been in touch with Mepmuff and is in a position to run the election. He will remind people that the election is starting, and then run it with the following timescale:
21 Feb – nominations start
28 Feb – nominations end and Q&A start
6 Mar – voting start
13 Mar – election ends and the new Treasurer is elected
4. Treasurer report – accounts update and new gift
PG is still working on the accounts, but is planning to circulate in the next few days.
There was discussion for MGM’s benefit about the shipping process – the gifts are often delivered by hand by Lycos/PG travelling to European tournaments, but postage is still the biggest expense for the NAF.
Lycos has a document with lots of the shipping information, and is passing information to MGM in his new role.
5. Interaction with GW
We are continuing to engage with GW as much as possible, as regards their event in May and the rules in the new box set. MD is sending regular emails and getting responses, and PG is also in touch.
6. Charity tournaments
Some charity tournaments get in touch with the NAF to ask for donations, and NAF staff have provided these in the past. There will be follow-up discussions about how best to support charity tournaments.
7. Next meeting
21.00 CET, 19th March 2016
