NAF meeting minutes 31/5/15

World Cup
World Cup updates: Andrea Parrella was in at the NAFC and he thinks there will be ~920 players at the World Cup possibly more. There are no organisational issues at the moment.
Beppe brought alpha version of new software to the NAFC and gave it to Lycos. As it was in Italian, Lycos will show to vmcat this week. On Friday Beppe will see the developers and will try the Beta version at his office.
Beta version will then get sent to Gaixo and then out to NTOs to try it out. Estimate release to NTOs in a couple of weeks, then ultimate version released in July.
Sann mentioned refs. Sann, Aramil, Panico, OMM, plus organisational staff, which should be enough as most players will be experienced and know the rules well.
President Report
Beppe wants to make the League Director an elected position, and that the Media Officer will be a committee position. Committee ratified this.
In order to create another elected position, the membership need to be asked and accept. Thereafter a League Director election process can be started.
There will be truncated election timetable for all elections as previously agreed: One week for nomination, one week for Q&A, one week for voting. Presidential election will be at the end of the year, with TD and Treasurer following. Notification to go out in the newsletter soon.
Treasurer Report
Geggster said the coin and the dice went down well. Lycos has several 1000 to post around the world to the distribution centres.
The Rewards Committee of SSB, Virral and Geggster are working on next year’s gift.
Geggster suggested dropping US “face-to-face” renewal to $5. Gaixo said it would be a good selling point. 5 Euros face-to-face too. Aus will stay as they have an independent arrangement.
Gaixo will inform the relevant people about the change.
Geggster has agreed spending on printing a BB publicity leaflet for conventions.
Membership Director
Valdric has noticed a glut of renewals – 210 since the new coin, including the NAFC.
Tournament Director
Vendors at the World Cup will be handled by Andrea and his team.
New NTO for Malta. They also want to join the Eurobowl.
New NTO in Poland. They had a BB conference and elected a new NTO – Domingo.
Variants committee has been working on solidifying the rules for CRP, and variant tournaments using these updates will be run later in the year. Tentative agreement to add “Dungeon Sevens” rule set from Australia as a new variant.
Media Officer
In answer to requests about getting multiple years of membership: for example, if it is May 2015 and your membership runs out in August you can join for August 2015-2016, but not lots of years in advance.
Operations
NAFC was a big success again, well done to Joemanji and his team.
Junior membership: U16 face-to-face renewals to be free.
