The Eurobowl is coming to Austria later this month on October 26th and 27th in Vienna with a record 18 teams competing, alongside the individual EurOpen competition, which is sure to be keenly fought.
Driesfield from Belgium, who has been to all the Eurobowls, writes:
“The initial idea was to have a tournament between a Belgian and a Dutch team. As Nighthawk and his Dutch counterpart started posting on talkfantasyfootball the French, Germans and English teams joined in and a European tournament started taking shape, and the first edition was won by the French. From then on each year saw the tournament getting bigger and bigger, and in 2010 the French introduced the Eur’open so individual players could also take part.
Why would you ever attend Eurobowl or Eur’open? Next to playing against oponents you seldom meet, this tournament is about social contact as well. After each game you get to have a few beers and play a few other games, or have a chat with some old friends you haven’t seen in a while.”
