Europe's (nay, the world's!!!) northernmost tournament is taking place on August 21-22 2010. Join the inaugural DOUBT. Conquer the barren wastes of the IRL version of Norsca. Discover if years of hiding from the tournament scene, honing their skills on Fumbbl have made the Swedish better Blood Bowl coaches or just more schizoid and homicidal. You know all the puns directed at the Norse in the Did-You-Knows? Yeah, that's us.

Tournaments: The Flame Bowl 2010 - The World's Premier Team Competition! December 5/6 Manchester (UK) All for cancer research!

Flame Bowl 2008 was tremendous fun and it raised over a £1000 for Cancer Research UK. As a result, Nippy Longskar is bringing it back for 2009! After the warm reception (ho ho) that the debut outing received, I'm pleased to announce that the first weekend of December 2009 (the 5th/6th) will see the return of Flame Bowl, once again hosted at New Century House, in Manchester City Centre. But it's freezing! Hush you. That was all a misunderstanding. This year will be lovely and warm, I promise. OK, so what's it all about? Brought to you by freakish mutant bloodbowling entity that is Flame On, The Flame Bowl II will once again be a two day, team based affair with teams of 4 battling it out for the title, currently held by the infamous Team Paincake, "the Nicest team in the World" (tm) Team Based? But I've no friends! Ideally I will be looking for people to enter in teams of 4 - however, don't worry if you can't quite manage this, just let me know that you're interested in forming/joining a team (there'll be a separate 'Teammates' thread in Tournament Discussions) and we can sort it all out from there! Everyone will be playing as individuals for the first 3 games on day one, then on day two, the 4-strong teams will be paired off according to overall performance. Still a Good Excuse! The other important thing to know is the event is going to be a charity fundraiser for Cancer Research UK. In conjunction with my work, who have promised to add £400 to the total if we can contribute at least that much, I'm hoping to beat last year's total of £1060 raised for this excellent cause - and still have a bit spare for some pretty nifty prizes, too. So do I get some dodgy dice? No! there's nothing wrong with Flame Bowl dice, and you should harshly chastise anyone who says otherwise. But yes, there will be dice, along with spot prizes each round, Flame Bowl Dugouts, Flame Bowl Pitches for the winning team and a fully painted team for the overall winner. Oh, and the Stunty Cup, of course.

After the success of the previous Waterbowl Weekenders, we are delighted to announce that the 4th Waterbowl Weekender will be taking place on the 20/21 February 2010, in Manchester. This year's event will be hosted at the CTF Building on Grafton Street, Manchester, which is part of the university. The feedback we had on this venue last year was fantastic, so we are very very happy to have secured it again :) For those who did not attend, the CTF is a great gaming venue with, amongst other things: *Air conditioning *More than enough space for up to 50 players *Up to 20 parking places onsite (and there is parking nearby) *More than one toilet (and they're clean!) Apart from clean loos, what can you expect? Well: - 2 days of top quality gaming & entertainment (including saturday social) - Great prizes (thanks to Tritex and Shadowforge) - Some unusual prize categories - A chance to take part in the Stunty Cup (The Waterbowl is the spiritual home of the Stunty Cup) - The opportunity to try and 'Beat Brendan'! The former back to back winner of the Waterbowl has still not lost a game at the Waterbowl over the last three years. There is a prize for the first person to take him down. - The opportunity to become King/Queen of the Watermonkeys (if you take advantage of the Watermonkey discount and attend the Waterbowl & the Monkeybowl) and much, much more! For more details about the location, go to www.umic.co.uk. TRITEX and SHADOWFORGE will be providing superb prize superb for the tournament. The price will, once again, be £20 NAF, £25 Non-NAF (includes membership) or £27 NAF/£32 Non-NAF if you want to take advantage of the Watermonkey discount.
