NAF News: Khorne Roster

The NAF has been inundated with questions and interest about the new Khorne roster in the newly-released Cyanide game of Blood Bowl.

NAF committee members have been in contact with GW Licensing, the GW Design Studio and the team of Bloodbowlers that agreed the roster and we understand this:

* The GW Licensing Team were not happy to see all 24 of the tabletop-accepted teams in the latest edition of the released Cyanide game.

* GW Licensing were happy with Khorne as a potential replacement, but if used, they would have to adhere to certain stipulations on positionals and in that, it looked like it may cause balance issues.

* A team of experienced Blood Bowl volunteers (non-GW, non-Cyanide) was put together to agree the roster and attempt to resolve potential balance issues. The Licensing team then had final veto on said roster.

* The Design Studio themselves have no plans to update the CRP any time soon. And IF they do, the Khorne roster would not necessarily be included and not necessarily exist in its current version.

The NAF would like to explain that whilst Khorne are not an official addition to the CRP as yet and that there doesn’t seem to be a timescale for entry either, that they do represent an interesting new roster - albeit perhaps necessarily toned down from their Warhammer counterparts. It is a roster with plenty of modelling opportunities and one that doesn't appear to unbalance Blood Bowl. Therefore after a period of play-testing, this team may be added to the extra three approved teams (that make up the LRB6), making a potential 25th available roster for NAF-approved tournaments. No decision will be made in 2012 - Khorne will therefore not be a sanctionable race for NAF tournaments until further notice although Tournament Organisers are free to request NAF-approval for any ruleset they feel improves their tournament.

The NAF will scrutinise any further proposed new rosters or changes to the Blood Bowl rules (i.e. those not officially sanctioned in the CRP for tabletop Blood Bowl) in the same way as we have here.

Hi All,

After several weeks of nominations and Questions and Answers the Tournament Director election has now closed. The final, and very close, outcome was that Pippy has been re-elected to the role.

We would like to thank all the candidates for their time and considerable effort in their campaigns. Some excellent ideas and suggestions have come forward for the organisation to consider.

Dave

NAF News: Are you waiting for a NAF package?

If you are waiting for your NAF membership package it may be because you have not entered your complete postal address into the system. At the completion of the October mailing there were over 200 members who had not entered their complete or correct address into the system. It cannot be stressed enough that without a correct and complete mailing address we cannot send out membership packages. Even missing a postal code or house number can cause a package to not be sent out. Name, Street, house/apt number, city, state, zip code & country must all be filled out.

If you are waiting for a package please double check your address here.

Thank you for your attention.

The NAF has obtained a group membership for Youth Hostels worldwide! Thus, any tournament organizers looking for cheap accommodation for coaches close to the venue now have the possibility to take Youth Hostels into account. The group must comprise at least 10 people. Check with the specific Youth Hostel(s) for further details.

You will also need a NAF ID card, which you may obtain via your Regional Tournament Coordinator or the Tournament Director.

NAF News: The NAF Quick League Tracker

As you may have noticed, there is a new link on the site (on the top navigation bar) which will take you to the Quick League Tracker (QUILT) system.

This system is an extension of the STARS team management system and will allow you to group up existing STARS teams into leagues. It also adds a basic scoring system and supports seasonal scores and stats. As it is likely that not all members in your league have access to the STARS system, there is basic support for external teams.

For those of you who run your own league websites, there is even a way to import the league table into your own site!

Middenheim, May 13, 2505 - During a press conference today, NAF representatives unveiled the Simple Team And Roster System (STARS), which will allow NAF coaches around the world to keep track of their teams.

"This is a way for NAF to provide a service for coaches of the less known teams that do not actively take part in tournaments" stated Mac R. Ooney, head of the Middenheim PR department for NAF. "We are hoping to continue expanding STARS over time, making it into an invaluable resource for coaches everywhere."

Footnote: Being a completely new system, STARS is bound to have some initial problems and bugs. The forum will have a thread where you can report these issues.

NAF News: NAF President resigns.

In a surprise move the President of NAF has resign. Necromancers' Broadcasting Circle (NBC) reported the resignation shortly after breaking a story about possible connections between John Lewis and Nikk Three-horn.

At a hastily called press conference President Lewis denied the allegations, claiming he wanted to spend more time with his family. The press conference was cut short when reporter James Nothing of Spike Magazine noted that Mr. Lewis had no family.

Vice President Anthony Watts was also implicated in the scandal.

Elections for the office of President of NAF will be held immediately with nominations finishing by May 19th. Voting should begin May 20th and should last 14 days.

See the NAF forums for more information.
